Based on the latest data from the Freddie Mac Primary Mortgage Market Survey, mortgage rates have declined. The 30-year fixed-rate mortgage has decreased to 6.99%, while the 15-year fixed-rate mortgage has dropped to 6.29%. Despite these lower rates, mortgage applications fell by 5.2% compared to the previous week.
WASHINGTON, D.C. (June 5, 2024) — Mortgage applications decreased 5.2 percent from one week earlier, according to data from the Mortgage Bankers Association’s (MBA) Weekly Applications Survey for the week ending May 31, 2024. This week’s results include an adjustment for the Memorial Day holiday.
